Purpose

As I’m lying there with bloodshot eyes
Just trying to make some sense
Of the thoughts in my mind
As I’m plagued with doubt Not lullabies
Sanity lost with time is it all just a lie?
And I’m past the point of no return
I’m losing the fight I’m just getting burned
There you were you gave me closure
As fire in me starts with hands on my shoulders
And here in this moment I’m reborn a poet
Writing words in motion
Living free in my story
When pen meets the paper there’s no room for failure
This is where I breakthrough
Chains unbound My Purpose Found
What a wondrous thing this life can be
Like ships lost at sea I was sinking
Till you saved me
As a broken soul adrift at night
Lost in darkness was I now my worlds cast in light
I was past the point of no return
Was losing the fight and then I learned
A bond so strong was soon to bloom
The love of you all was able to fight through
And here in this moment I’m reborn a poet
Writing words in motion
Living free in my story
When pen meets the paper there’s no room for failure
This is where I breakthrough
Chains unbound My Purpose Found
There’s no one else I’d rather share this with
This gift of a lifetime all the memories we’d miss
One simple connection sets our dreams on their way
A destination selected in our fates

This Isn't a Goodbye

Feels like it's been a long long time
Since I heard that voice on the other line
As trauma freezes me in place
I struggle to find proper words to say
You tell me that you're in trouble
That you simply need my help
But once again
I question if you're a real man
With all the false truth coming from your mouth
Where were you?
Countless times your dear friends needed you too
And I wonder if it's better
Sometimes I feel I cared too much
You weren't there and I was too out of touch
Then as the years passed you'd show up
Start a scene then leave with a ticket stub
And the toxicity of you makes me need an antidote
Quite concerning
The bridges you're burning
Is enough to make my systems overload
Where were you?
Countless times your dear friends needed you too
Where were you?
Countless times your dear friends needed you too
And I wonder if its better
Just to kick you to the curb
To say my peace and leave
Cause I know
You'd do the same to me
And I heard it all before
You said this time you'll change
So I fold
And let my walls down
Cause there's still a part of me
There's still a part of me
Cause there's still a part of me
There's still a part of me
That has faith you'll come around one day
Lost in the rain no home to be found
Constantly wandering from bar to town
You say that you're happy
That you just came around
Missing those friends that never let you down
I know it seems harsh just to shut you out
But I can't really deal with this right now
This isn't a goodbye
More a see you later

Paradise

They told us hard work and an education's what we need
To claim the fame and admiration we craved desperately
Just us working ourselves down to the bone
And with nothing to be shown
This can't be
All life has for me
To get a one way ticket to paradise
You know it won't come easy there's sacrifice
But in a land of dreams and our fantasies
Just think of how much happier we will be
Come with me
I'll show you life's a celebration
These hard times lead to motivation
But it's true stick with me and you'll see
With some shine you'll be the best that you can be
Nothing simple since we all left the first starting lines
This game of life seemed to be giving us thorns in our sides
Thinking of the big ambitions we had in our youth
We planned of whole world domination there was something to prove
Just plant one seed thats filled with hope
Step back and dream to watch it grow
Things may seem small though
Greatness is rooted below
Can't you see
It's my firm belief
To get a one way ticket to paradise
You know it won't come easy there's sacrifice
But in a land of dreams and our fantasies
Just think of how much happier we will be
Come with me
I'll show you life's a celebration
These hard times lead to motivation
But it's true stick with me and you'll see
With some shine you'll be the best that you can be
It's true stick with me and you'll see
With some shine you'll beat the rest
To get a one way ticket to paradise
You know it won't come easy there's sacrifice
But in a land of dreams and our fantasies
Just think of how much happier we will be
Come with me
I'll show you life's a celebration
These hard times lead to motivation
But it's true stick with me and you'll see
With some shine you'll beat the rest
